Let customers speak for us
from 16 reviewsI have finally installed the Pademelon on my bike and taken it for the first shake down and dial in ride.
Unfortunately, it is not something you young fellas need to get, I don’t think you should get one at all. You young fellas are best without it – that way I can keep this secret for myself.
This would have to be the best product of ’25 imo. It gives the most significant improvement to performance. It should be a mandatory item on a big travel eBikes. I can see that it would also transform a light enduro bike. Even a downcountry bike will charge harder with one.
We have a front tyre connected to a fork, that is the suspension – the pademelon isn’t suspension, its a damper for the steering (duh, as stated) and this translates to better use of the suspension, better front tyre connection and stability and to better suspension actuation as the fork can cycle more effectively through its travel.
First impressions, big travel ebikes are notorious for waggy their head while riding on fire roads, slightly up to very much more on steep up. Transformation; the bike rides easily along the flats, and calmly on the ups. The pademelon will save you energy and extend your stamina. Rough tech ups, game changer. Command and authority on the front tyre. Cleaning tech on the up is easier. On my test ride, I easily cleared a tech section that I often only just clear 3 times out of 5 – it was cheating.
Initially on slow to mid speed turns the feel was changed and I sensed muted feedback and some front wheel pushes. After a few more kilometres I had the feel of the steering and there no issues and I realised I was looking for the feel of the front jiggling offline on small bumps, na, that tyres staying there and its doing all its gripping right there, no changing and jiggling about.
On the fast corners, on switch backs and tech down – again, new levels of command and authority. This is where it really shines, bright! As I progressed, I leaned in more and more and harder and harder.
The accuracy of the front tyre is entirely new and engaging – surprising and exciting. You can work the front tyre harder and it is observably steadier and more stable – you don’t realise how much the front tyre has been jiggling about, and you think you are going wildly fast because you are ragged. Enter new speed.
Doing scandos, off the charts fun and you can do stupid stuff and slap the back tyre with new accuracy, why – because the front hasn’t moved and it is an exact and accurate pivot reference. Charging down trails and popping from side to side onto support over ruts etc, so so good now. Again, accuracy. This gives you superpowers, its Remy in a box accuracy. This has changed my dh focused bike into a Sports DH bike, it is so nimble now.
Jumping, I get lazy after a few and on pops I can be inconsistent with the bars meaning my landings can be wide of the mark – the pademelon gives great pop accuracy and markedly improves my consistency on pops. This equals more fun and more daring attempts, why, the pademelon gives new command and authority.
Indicative of the silly fun I was having I nailed a KOM on a steep track and I’m still dialling in here. Woohoo, this has injected a new level of fun into the bike.
I only see one problem with the pademelon. When I finally ditch the bike, its going to be messy because I am going to be going so much faster. In everything it does, it will save you energy and you will be fresher as a rider everywhere.

Very very happy with this damper & great service & feedback in getting the right one & site installation videos made it really easy to fit. I can’t believe the difference your pademelon damper makes!! Especially as I’m a one armed mountain biker, it makes all the difference. Thanks team!!!

I´m freakin´impressed on this thing. Surely the best invest for some time. You need to feel it to belive it - Thank you for this invention!
Cheers!

Super excited to have finally got my hands on one! The pademelon has the uncanny ability to feel like nothing at all but everything at the same time. You don't notice it on but you sure notice it off!! My single crown feels like I have the same control as my dual crown through the tech rock gardens. Can't imagine how good one would feel on a DH bike!

So far so good! Pademelon installed on 2022 Specialized Levo. Bike comes with headset cup inserts so pademelon doesn’t mount directly to frame. Standard Specialized 0 degree offset insert is completely round and rotates under load. Bar gluing into the frame have switched to the +1 degree headset cup as this insert has a lip to stop rotation under load - no issues. Running 170mm Zeb and likely balances original geometry in as a result.
Noticeable less fatigue on hands + far more stable riding across roots/off camber sections.

Really helps with hand and arm fatigue and keeping me from losing the front wheel, apart from that time I high sided a berm

One of the most noticeable and positive changes you can make to a bike from my experience. I’ve found that as well as reducing arm fatigue and gaining more straight line stability, I’ve had more confidence leaning the bike over and weighting the outside hand so my cornering technique has improved as a result. Very happy and have ordered one for my alternate bike because it upset me whenever I got in that and didn’t have the Pademelon!

Not the first steering damper on the market, but by far the best thought out, neatest design and easiest to adjust.
It has made riding the chunky, the messy and the outright dangerous much less intimidating, as well as giving the bike incredibly good manners while climbing.
It's performed faultlessly since install and needs scarily little maintenance. What's not to love?

A neat little addition to the bike that compliments all types of riding. The adjustment in the damper is great for big days on the bike, you can fine tune the settings to suit your riding style and the terrain. It takes away any second guessing and gives you greater control and stability up front meaning you can pick the right line, the first time.

Grinding uphill, the Pademelon helps me track straight and wandering less.
Downhill, especially through rowdy tech I feel less arm fatigue and can more confidently hold higher lines that previously felt out of reach.
Quality product, highly recommend.

This thing rocks. The confidence it inspires to charge into a rock garden or through large compressions, knowing you have help keeping your front wheel on line is huge. It has saved me multiple times.

Over the course of the last 8 months I've fortunate enough to be able to use the CS.1 on a few of my bikes (trail, ebike, DH). As an experienced rider with heaps of saddle time yearly there are few products I've ridden that are as instantly noticeable as the CS.1. Averaging about ~1.75-2 turns from fully open (personal preference) the CS.1 kept the aggressive shuttering of the front end to a minimimum while keeping the front wheel facing forward and my arms a bit more focused on steering and less on their fatigue.
For me, the CS.1 excelled in faster, bumpier terrain, and would be a great purchase for any rider looking to achieve a more controlled feeling out of the front end of their bike when the trail gets rough.
5 stars, for not only the product but the team. They've been super open to feedback and are generally interested in making THE best product for all riders out there. Cheers team.

Running it on my SB160 that I have over forked to 180mm travel. The extra stability in the front end from the steering damper is giving my nearly DC levels of confidence in the front end while still staying nimble.
I have also noticed the increased feel through the dampened part of the steering angle has helped me refine my riding technique. I'm getting more natural lean angle than I used to in some trail sections. Previously I think I was using too much steering/wheel flop.
I will be buying another one for my DH set up this winter. I'm all in on this.

I come from Germany and ride with only one arm and can recommend this ingenious part to anyone who has only one arm available due to an accident or from birth, but doesn't want to miss out on riding a mountain bike!
Since I've had the shock, I feel much safer on my bike and don't even know how I've managed to ride for the last 20 years without this top product!!!

The stability provided by this damper on off-camber chatter and steep, harsh corners makes it a no-brainer for any bike. It also significantly reduces fatigue in my delicate arms.
