POSITION SENSITIVE
The CS.1 offers position-sensitive damping, delivering constant support across a 70-degree range where maximum damping assistance is most effective. Between 35 and 90 degrees this effect is intentionally absent, ensuring ease of manoeuver in tight corners without resistance. As the bars return to centre, damping or resistance is removed to enable precise control and ensures your front wheel remains on its desired course.
ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT
The Pademelon CS.1 steering damper allows you to fine-tune levels of resistance to unwanted front wheel movement. By simply turning the adjuster knob located on the damper, you can easily increase or decrease the level of damping. Adjustment ranges from no damping to incredibly high support, offering precise control with just a few rotations.
CLIMBING SUPPORT
While the CS-1 offers exceptional benefits in descending, it can further enhance the rider experience by optimising climbing stability. By counteracting uneven power distribution on the pedals, it reduces the need for excessive steering input to maintain a desired course. Experience smoother climbs with minimized front wheel wandering, saving precious energy for the really fun stuff.
Super excited to have finally got my hands on one! The pademelon has the uncanny ability to feel like nothing at all but everything at the same time. You don't notice it on but you sure notice it off!! My single crown feels like I have the same control as my dual crown through the tech rock gardens. Can't imagine how good one would feel on a DH bike!
So far so good! Pademelon installed on 2022 Specialized Levo. Bike comes with headset cup inserts so pademelon doesn’t mount directly to frame. Standard Specialized 0 degree offset insert is completely round and rotates under load. Bar gluing into the frame have switched to the +1 degree headset cup as this insert has a lip to stop rotation under load - no issues. Running 170mm Zeb and likely balances original geometry in as a result.
Noticeable less fatigue on hands + far more stable riding across roots/off camber sections.
