TAME IMPERFECTION
Imperfections are everywhere on the trail - in line choice, during pedaling, or in the grip of fatigue. Pademelon is an advanced steering damper designed to diminish the impact of these imperfections and enhance your ride with increased confidence and control. Traction, without question.
TAME THE UNTAMED
Pademelon steering dampers stabilize unwanted side-to-side movement, while your suspension takes on up/down and fore/aft.
-
Pademelon steering dampers improve the riding experience of any bike through greater stability and efficiency.
-
Pademelon helps to:
Boost front wheel traction
Minimize steering deflection
Lock in your line
Reduce arm fatigue
Enhance pedaling efficiency
-
What will I notice when I use one?
A settled and calm ride
Off-camber predictability
Reduced hand strength input
Fewer deflections off an intended line
Reduced upper body fatigue in climbs
REDUCES UNEXPECTED FRONT WHEEL MOVEMENT
The Pademelon steering damper helps stabilize the front wheel by minimizing unwanted movement caused by rocks, roots or even pedaling. These disruptions are significantly reduced by our advanced damper technology, requiring less energy to maintain your desired direction and improving your bike's overall tracking and stability.
POSITION SENSITIVE
The Pademelon CS.1 steering damper offers position-sensitive damping, delivering constant support across a 75-degree range where maximum damping assistance is most effective. Between 37.5 and 90 degrees this effect is intentionally absent, ensuring ease of manoeuver in tight corners without resistance. As the bars return to center, damping and resistance are removed to enable precise control, so your front wheel goes exactly where you want it to.

from 9 reviewsNot the first steering damper on the market, but by far the best thought out, neatest design and easiest to adjust.
It has made riding the chunky, the messy and the outright dangerous much less intimidating, as well as giving the bike incredibly good manners while climbing.
It's performed faultlessly since install and needs scarily little maintenance. What's not to love?
A neat little addition to the bike that compliments all types of riding. The adjustment in the damper is great for big days on the bike, you can fine tune the settings to suit your riding style and the terrain. It takes away any second guessing and gives you greater control and stability up front meaning you can pick the right line, the first time.
Grinding uphill, the Pademelon helps me track straight and wandering less.
Downhill, especially through rowdy tech I feel less arm fatigue and can more confidently hold higher lines that previously felt out of reach.
Quality product, highly recommend.
This thing rocks. The confidence it inspires to charge into a rock garden or through large compressions, knowing you have help keeping your front wheel on line is huge. It has saved me multiple times.
Over the course of the last 8 months I've fortunate enough to be able to use the CS.1 on a few of my bikes (trail, ebike, DH). As an experienced rider with heaps of saddle time yearly there are few products I've ridden that are as instantly noticeable as the CS.1. Averaging about ~1.75-2 turns from fully open (personal preference) the CS.1 kept the aggressive shuttering of the front end to a minimimum while keeping the front wheel facing forward and my arms a bit more focused on steering and less on their fatigue.
For me, the CS.1 excelled in faster, bumpier terrain, and would be a great purchase for any rider looking to achieve a more controlled feeling out of the front end of their bike when the trail gets rough.
5 stars, for not only the product but the team. They've been super open to feedback and are generally interested in making THE best product for all riders out there. Cheers team.
Running it on my SB160 that I have over forked to 180mm travel. The extra stability in the front end from the steering damper is giving my nearly DC levels of confidence in the front end while still staying nimble.
I have also noticed the increased feel through the dampened part of the steering angle has helped me refine my riding technique. I'm getting more natural lean angle than I used to in some trail sections. Previously I think I was using too much steering/wheel flop.
I will be buying another one for my DH set up this winter. I'm all in on this.
I come from Germany and ride with only one arm and can recommend this ingenious part to anyone who has only one arm available due to an accident or from birth, but doesn't want to miss out on riding a mountain bike!
Since I've had the shock, I feel much safer on my bike and don't even know how I've managed to ride for the last 20 years without this top product!!!
The stability provided by this damper on off-camber chatter and steep, harsh corners makes it a no-brainer for any bike. It also significantly reduces fatigue in my delicate arms.
I was fortunate enough to have the single crown pademelon fitted last year. The difference it made was unbelievable. After riding through the Mustang Valley in Nepal over rocky terrain it made it a lot easier and less stress on my arms. Would recommend trying it out.
